Situated at the Canion Point, Utah, Amangiri is a 600 acres luxury resort emerging from the dramatic landscape of Navajo Dessert and making a raw, bold statement.
Architects Rick Joy, Wendell Burnette & Marwan Al-Sayed have created “a contemporary interpretation of native Indian architecture”, while integrating it harmoniously into the natural scenery of sand and rock. Minimal in its design, the resort consists of large concrete blocks, which pose as an architectural symphony of colour, texture and natural light. Descending into the valley, the visitor is struck by the boldness of the main Pavillion, which is positioned around the main swimming pool and welcomes the natural hues of the dramatic stone surroundings. Two accommodation wings of 34 suites, whose interior decoration captures the atmosphere of the modern American Southwest, unfold into the dessert.
The surreal beauty of the natural environment provides a quiet, yet mesmerizing backdrop for this majestic resort to stand out and provoke all senses.
