The simplicity of the surrounding environment and the brown & grey color scheme of the area of Karavostasis  paired with the clarity of the volumes of the hotel complex led us to design the interior and surrounding spaces with solutions that underline simplicity and elements (decorative objects, carpets, wooden ceilings) with strong semiotics (greek tradition). Inside the rooms and reception area of Anemi Hotel, the photos of Margarita Nikitaki capture the colorful summer life of Folegandros in a simple yet modern manner.

Colors & materials:
White (key color in all Cycladic villages), dark grey(giving a sense of shadow and coolness, most valuable during the greek summer), brown (the color of the stone of the surrounding hills) .

The restaurant and reception are settled between large openings and terraces, painted in dark grey color.

The surrounding area is designed in such way that it blends the dry and rocky landscape. Paths made of rock, small gardens slightly unrefined   with plants that need a little water and lots of sun to survive. ( inspired by the small gardens and yards of village houses in the Cyclades).

The furniture used in all interior and exterior spaces come from renown designers and manufacturers such as Rowan & Erwan Bouroullec, C. &R. Eames, Paola Navone and Magis, Vitra, Flexform Moooi, B&B Italia, Orizonti, Flos. They are incorporated in the design without letting their strong identity surpass the overall aesthetics.

The carpets are old original handmade pieces from the east coast of the Aegean sea.
