A magnificent single family house just 14 km from downtown Madrid is Balcony House designed by the Madrid based practice of A-Cero. With a generous living space of 952 sq.m. over three levels, this imposing structure sits on a beautifully landscaped plot of 2.000 sq.m.

As its name implies, floor to ceiling windows lead onto balconies at all levels, in particular an especially oversized balcony on the upper level which cantilevers over the outdoor living space, a continuation of the interior lounge area. Both inside and out, the geometric planes of the design are broken by sensuous curves. Inside the home the curves are enhanced by timber details and the exterior they are mirrored by the gently undulating lines of the garden.

The elegant interior in a neutral palette boasts custom made furniture in the living room and kitchen, the latter a high tech environment of glossy surfaces. The use of LED lighting frames the rooms and artwork, provides not only illumination but a specific design aesthetic. This lighting element is continued on the exterior and after dark the home is set apart from its neighbors, its impressive dimensions magnified as it is reflected in the infinity pool.
