A remarkable sensory experience is offered by Coca Cola, in the London 2012 Olympic Park, inviting visitors to get hands-on with a visionary, spectacular structure designed by Penilla Ohrstedt and Asif Khan. This state-of-the-art installation is an experimental mix of architecture, sport, music and technology and is part of Coca Cola’s Future Flames campaign, which aims at driving attention to Britain’s shining stars and motivating other young people to pursue their passions and dreams.

It is a musical collage of sporting sounds that are activated by touching parts of its structure. Acting as a musical instrument, it lets visitors remix Mark Ronson’s “Anywhere in the World” Coca Cola Anthem, which is enhanced by human heartbeat sounds and trainers squeaking. The sounds are embedded in 200 intertwined ETFE plastic pillows which respond to both movement and touch. Furthermore, the architects have installed an external spiral ramp that leads visitors to the heart of the pavilion, which features an interactive light installation, created by Jason Bruges.

The giant crystal facade of the structure, combined with its gravity-defying illuminated panel give to the installation a cutting-edge and super impressive look. Opening to the public on the 27th July, it is definitely an experience one should not miss.
