This outstanding residence is situated on a terraced site overlooking Bantry Bay in South Africa and was designed by the practice of SAOTA in collaboration with OKHA Interiors.
Built on four levels, the two levels open up onto a garden courtyard with a cozy family room to the rear across from the vast living room space. This is the signature room of the entire design concept; its floor to ceiling windows opening completely on either side, it is visually transformed into an outdoor pavilion which leads straight from the garden, through the lounge and out onto the deck and a cantilevered infinity pool which appears to be a continuation of the Atlantic Ocean beyond!
While exhibiting a sophisticated urban identity, many organic features have been incorporated within the design aesthetic of the home. A spectacular cocktail bar created from tons of roughly hewn granite and unfinished wooden details covering a porch or included as a decorative feature of a bathroom, in a variety of textures and tones.
The generously sized spaces exude luxury and the neutral color palette is broken through the choice of artwork and the unavoidable endless blue of the South African sky and ocean making this an enviable home in an idyllic location.
