The Garoza H10.1 is a prototype prefabricated housing project designed by Herreros Arquitectos. The 75m2 structure located in Spain is composed of 4 modules plus mezzanine and was constructed at a cost of Euro 200.000 with all internal fittings installed.

The individual units, were produced in a factory and transported to the chosen site complete with internal walls, storage and fitted furnishings, where they were assembled accordingly. The minimum size which may be constructed is 75m2 in total and the more modules used, the more economical the building becomes. The electrical systems are tailored to suit each individual client and finally all joints are waterproofed and the roof is put into place.

The advantages are obvious in terms of speed and efficiency but also being able to obtain affordable housing. The principals of the design follow the ideals of sustainability, recycling and economy, key words of the times in which we live
