The modern geometric design of this two storey residence, designed by architect Konstantinos Doxiadis in the 1960s, appears to be at home nestled in the shade of the mature pines already existing on the site. The renovation of the building was undertaken by the architectural firm of Two Architects Design, who transformed it into its current status as a contemporary urban residence. Immediately apparent is the proportions of the paved  outdoor living and dining area, an ideal, yet rare feature, in the average Greek residence.

On entering the home, the elegant simplicity of clean lines with a neutral colour palette allow the external greenery to become part of the interior. Comfort is a theme followed in the choice of furnishings together with an aesthetic footnote in the lamps and light fittings. An impressive concealed spiral staircase leads to a functional office space on an upper level. The ultra modern bathroom fittings and kitchen area add to the efficiency of the home. Contrasting materials are used throughout, light wooden floors, darker wooden cabinets, shiny and matte surfaces.

The powerful Greek identity of the design is not only in the layout of available indoor and outdoor spaces but also in the artwork chosen, bold colours and themes interspersed with black and white prints add a familiar warmth and serenity to what can only be described as an ‘ideal home’.
