Just a stone’s throw from the port of Mykonos stands the residence designed by architect, Dimitris Rizos and interior designer by Marilena Rizou . More than just a celebrated tourist destination, Mykonos is also the home of some 10.000 residents and accordingly, this home was designed as a residence for all seasons.

The distribution of the house’s volume is in relation to the seasonal exposure to direct sunlight and strong winds, ensuring year round comfort for its occupants. Accordingly, traditional architectural features of the island have been incorporated into the design such as small openings and the smooth asymmetrical shapes on the corners of the building.

The airy open spaces of the interior are given a sense of continuity by the connecting arches.  Stark white walls and beamed wooden ceilings mirror the simplicity of the natural beauty of the environment. A sensational view of the landscape bathed in the glaring light of the Aegean is offered from each room. The entire project is made complete by the introduction of the water featuring within the landscaping of the grounds.
