What used to be a 19th century prison located in Palencia, Spain, Has now been transformed into a fantastic new Cultural Civic Centre. Designed by Madrid based Exit architects, this public meeting place has come a long way from what used to be a dark depressing place. Filled with skylights to allow for flow of natural light, the makeover has created a bright new space covered in metal and glass.

"Our proposal intends to convert the former prison into a meeting place, recovering some of the old spaces, and creating at the same time new structures that make possible the new planned activities. It is a project that respects the existing building, which is given a contemporary, lighter appearance, and where the natural light will play a key role".

Enough said, we have great images to do the rest of the talking for us.
