React Architects have just unveiled the fascinating Edge Summer House in the Island of Paros in Greece. The structure is made up of two residences, beautifully divided in the middle by a wide staircase that leads to the pool area. The overall layout is designed to merge with the existing landscape in order to fight the elements, and to leave the land undisturbed.
Extruding walls, allow for protection from the strong northerly winds, whilst rooftops have been planted, creating a beautiful transition between natural and man made design.
Clearly we can all see the beauty in this project, however, the most interesting part is the way traditional Cycladic architecture has been transformed and redefined over the years.
