Supermachine StudiosSupermachine Studios have put together their talent and inventiveness to remodel the 600m2 student lounge of Bangkok’s University so as to accommodate a variety of student activities, encourage creativity and progressively interacting teaching.

A vibrant, dynamic space with irregular shapes and bold forms, playful elements and patterns, eye popping color palettes of bright pink, yellow, and lime, creates a playful learning environment and encourages flexible experimentation. The transparent materials, the neon pixel walls, the light reflecting surfaces and the peculiar perspectives all add to this eccentric, unconventional visual.

The “Reading Cave”, on the lower floor of the lounge, displays a fascinating wall of wooden ribs, in front of which the “big sofa” is situated with pixel units that can be formed in different configurations. The upper level has been formed for more dynamic activities and consists of two huts; a shocking polka dotted pink karaoke house and a wooden room for small events. Play areas surround the two huts, filled with re-invented items such as pool and ping pong tables, a giant dart and a pole dancing corner. An intriguing network of holes throughout the space provides visual connection and highlights the quirkiness and energy of the lounge.
