The expansion and redesign of a home in Yarze, a town in the district of Baabda in the Lebanon, was undertaken by the practice of Raed Abillama Architects, and completed in 2010. Known as the Villa Yarze, the existing structure was enlarged to encompass a living space of 1.800 sq.m. and without losing its original identity, was transformed into a contemporary version of its former self.

The stone finished exterior was supplemented by a covered pavilion, a family friendly area by the deck and pool perfect for outdoor dining on balmy summer evenings. The interior exhibits a grand nature, an impressive space with high ceilings and stately home like dimensions. The flexibility of the transparent dividing walls of the living area allow it to open up for large scale entertaining. The landscaped garden follows the natural incline of the site to create ample space for a selection of indigenous fruit bearing trees and a herb garden, a large scale spacious area around this incredibly impressive home.
