Brooklyn based artist, Jacob Hashimoto, is holding his first solo exhibition, The Other Sun, in conjunction with Studio Citta,  at the Rochini Gallery in Mayfair, London, featuring his signature theme, kites.

His colourful on site installation is composed of his beloved kites, all hand made in the traditional way, using bamboo and rice paper, some are left white and others are decorated in imaginative colourful designs.  The three dimensional installation is hung from the ceiling at different heights and visitors are encouraged to walk around the fairy tale landscape to discover different aspects of the exhibition. The mass of yellow kites at the rear of the grouping represents the sun, a symbol of positivity.

The exhibition challenges the boundaries between the pictorial and the sculptural, but what is certain is that the visitor will walk away with their own interpretation of this positive experience.

The exhibition, The Other Sun, will run until August 28th, 2012.
