A recent death defying trend which began in Russia, is the scaling of towering structures with the intent and purpose of taking photographs from these lofty heights. Known as Skywalkers, the devil may care characters occasionally end up in jail during the course of their endeavors, as well as producing some excellent photographs which give us an exciting bird’s eye view of the cityscapes below.

Two such Skywalkers are Russian born Vadim Mahara and Vitaly Raskalov, who recently spent a month travelling around Europe, visiting 12 cities in 7 countries to compile a fascinating collection of images which represent their alternative perception of the beauty of the city, hundreds of feet below the lens of their camera.

Using no special safety equipment, they succeeded in reaching the peaks of a series of iconic structures such as Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the Eiffel Tower and the spire of the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Nothing is too dangerous or out of reach for this intrepid duo and we can benefit from their unbelievable antics by enjoying the photographic results of their vertigo inducing views.
