Envisioned by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, Canasta is the name of the latest collection of outdoor furniture for B & B Italia. The name Canasta means ‘baskets’ in Spanish and the woven polyethylene fibre of which the furniture is made resembles the handcrafted basket-work of traditional ethnic cultures.
The anatomically shaped aluminium frames are treated with a polyester powder coating which ensures their hard wearing quality, in a series of throne like armchairs, smaller high backed chairs, sofa and day-beds, together with a range of tables and side tables both in woven and simple geometric shapes. A choice of fabrics and patterns are available for the seat covers which are coordinated with pretty floral throw cushions. The floral theme is repeated in a selection of ceramic tiled table tops.
An elegant collection which merges the boundaries between the contemporary and the traditional in variety of shapes which would enhance any outdoor space, terrace, garden or poolside deck, in a practical, comfortable contemporary outdoor furniture option.
