A collaboration between artist Richard Woods and product designer Sebastian Wrong brought about the ‘Logo Chair’. Created for an exhibition at the Galerie VIVID in Rotterdam, the ‘logos of reality’ series of chairs consists of a simple childlike interpretation of what a chair should be, put together in a traditional woodblock technique.

The chairs then undergo a transformation by the hand painting of Richard Woods which cover every surface of the pieces. With various configurations of black, white and grey and a series of crazy comic book colors, with heavy black outlining, the 4 chairs appear to have leapt out of a fantasy world as surreal 3D images.

Each chair is produced in a limited edition of 18 per color combination, signed and numbered and set to become a collectors’ item as a functional realization of the ongoing trend to merge the disciplines of art, design and craftsmanship.
