Japanese brand, Rootote, are well known for their functional canvas carrier bags in unusual designer prints. The identifying characteristic of the bags is the concealed side pocket. Their latest tote is a result of a collaboration with Milan designers, Nendo, who, rather than design the exterior of the bag, came up with the idea of a monochromatic exterior and turning the side pocket into a hand puppet.

This  playful aspect of the  classic tote is available in the origami like shape of a bear, a dinosaur, a kangaroo or a human figure.
