Environmental design project developed in partnership with the architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça, for a multipurpose room, the foyer of the Pavilion of Knowledge, a science museum in Lisbon. The intention, due to the versatility on the usage of this space, was to create a texture for a perforated wall with acoustic and lightning purposes.

The theme, ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) is an analogy to museum intents of sharing information. By creating different pattern densities with bigger or smaller cuts, acoustic percentages and the openings in the window areas of the rear rooms were managed.

LED white lightning between the wall and the SKIN was balanced with natural light.

The environmental design intervention SKIN was distinguished alongside 10 others, from a pool of 6,468 entrants, with a Grand Prix at the Red Dot Communication Design Awards in Essen, Germany. This striking illuminated interior is also a wayfinding system in the heart of the Pavilion of Knowledge, in Lisbon.
