The Tokyo chaise-longue by Charlotte Perriand is the first edition of a project dating back to 1940, never before released. Thanks to Cassina, Tokyo has been put into exclusive worldwide production for the very first time in conjunction with the Charlotte Perriand, de la photographie au design retrospective at the Petit Palais in Paris (7th April - 18th September 2011), where it will be presented in bamboo. The designer originally conceived Tokyo when she lived and worked in Japan. It was a re-interpretation in bamboo of the renowned LC4, a poetic synthesis between human rationalism and nature.

Cassina now proposes the project in three different woods: bamboo, teak and beech.Tokyo. An organic shape; sinuous and inviting. A piece of design history, superbly expressing Cassina’s time-honoured mastery of woodwork. A dynamic vision, where all elements combine in perfect harmony, to be admired and enjoyed on the veranda, terrace and outdoors.
