This bench is imagined as a meeting place between two elements, two people, two tunnels. These tunnels merge and wrap within each other to create an unimagined spatial quality.  One tunnel supports the other through an interlocking structure of concentric wooden rings.

The project continues an ongoing interest by our office in geometries of repetition that are at once apparent but that are also deviated by outside interferences, creating new territories and spatial readings.

Projects in reference include earlier work such as our competition entry for the Museum Branly in Paris, France on through to recent projects like the FRAC Arts Centre in Orleans, France and the Institute of Fashion and Design in Paris.
