The Fendi Menswear Collection A/W 2013 was staged in the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milan, a huge exhibition space created from an industrial complex in 2004. This provided a perfect backdrop for a collection inspired by the great outdoors and ‘the human need for life in extreme conditions’. The range of garments by Silvia Fendi all but guaranteed survival in conditions in the frozen climes to the urban jungle!

Featuring extravagant layers of contrasting textures in oversized coats and cape like jackets in wool, fur and leather, worn with snow boots and slim line leather pants. Generous sweaters in cashmere, checked shirts in tartan wool and hoodies, all presented a sophisticated take on the standard survival gear. Along with the macho earthiness of the outdoor all weather garments came the urban streetwear of smart casual pants, sweaters and sports jackets in muted earthy tones and all in the luxuriant fabrics of wool and cashmere, as well as the elegant suits in pinstripes, always a must for the sartorial male.

The collection was enthusiastically received in the people friendly venue with a raised runway on a loop, allowing great visibility and a second chance to admire each item from this impressive range of clothes.
