An experimental project which delves into the qualities of an alternative fabric, was conducted by Coatian designer Matija Cop. The fabric is constructed of laser cut synthetic water and UV resistant foam, slotted together with tabs, without the need for conventional garment making methods of stitching or gluing, a method more linked to construction and producing designs based on those of gothic architecture.

Through the curving sculptural shapes of the garments, turrets, walls and arches may be discerned within the stone like textures but only in appearance, as the fabric retains a softness and the ability to be deconstructed and remade in a different form. In shades of grey and a vivid blue, this unique conceptual project has produced some fascinating results. An inspirational design project which integrates fashion with architecture and technology and the creation of a number of futuristic silhouettes, mesmerising in their individuality.
