A vivacious multicolored interior greets all who enter, intrigued, the Alaloum Board Game Cafe in the Athens suburb of Nea Philadelphia. The masterminds behind this stimulating vibrancy are the Athens-based Triopton Architects, who decided to evoke our childhood memories and brilliantly came up with the board game concept filled with delightful intricacies..!

A sense of immersion into the somewhat retro world of board games envelopes the customer from the second they step onto the checkerboard floor of the interior. A wall of snakes and ladders and a blackboard ceiling and brightly colored games sit on the wooden shelves of the signature feature of the space, a double height red metal games library. The feel of a playroom or school classroom follows on to the upper level via a red metal staircase to yet more fun and games spaces.

The interior is completed by an industrial touch of exposed pipework and ventilation tubes and the white painted raw brick walls. An thought-provoking interior which allows customers to escape from the virtual world of the internet and face reality through the renaissance notion of face to face interaction with their peers over a board game!
