A beautifully functional interior by the Moscow based practice of Geometrix Design, a project for their own living space, it totally represents their design ethos. In every way contemporary and innovative, it includes a host of ergonomic solutions for an urban lifestyle in a compact space.
The basic monochromatic pallet is seen throughout the project and forms a workable backdrop which permits an imaginative selection of brightly coloured furniture. The raw concrete of the ceiling in the living room adds an industrial touch to the room. The dimensions of the space are visually enhanced by a mirrored structure which conceals ample storage space and a small home office area with its geometric shelf is another welcome feature. The sharp geometric shapes throughout the the home are balanced by the stunning light installations, an inherent feature of the home, including a colourful wall mounted piece which represents the members of this young family.
The kitchen is accessible from the living room, the two specific areas divided by the black and white colour scheme. This family space is warmed by the clever lighting, soft built in ceiling lights, RGB over bar counter and gentle coloured lights over the dining space.
A concealed door leads into the bedroom, nursery and bathroom, all of which follow the pattern of simple forms enlightened through a system of lights. The entire project exhibits a clarity of contemporary design and a fine example of how the starkness of geometric forms may be balanced and transformed into a comfortable home environment, infusing it with colour and warmth.
