The seemingly limiting and constraining specifications of this project were overcome and became a new source of information and inspiration for architect Yorgos Merlos, when he undertook the design of this chalet on the edge of mount Parnassos.

Thus, the datum of a nearly sectional house, made of Finnish timber on a base of local stone, with the obvious result of a totally stereotypical mountain lodge, was ingeniously overturned by Merlos' final proposal. The creation of an imposing, black chalet in the lush green environment of the surrounding fir forest...

On the outside, the tiled roof and all wooden surfaces acquired their new black look, which became the main reference for the designing and decorating interventions in the interiors. The indoor spaces, divided by gypsum walls, are characterized by the emblematic presence of black logs - painted with a special tincture - and the overall feeling of a modern and sophisticated relaxation, of the highest aesthetic requirements.

White walls, offering the necessary lightness, furniture with marked abstractive intentions - also in black - monochromatic wall to wall carpets... Like a sequence of elements, 'breaking up' with the presence of few coloured details and shiny materials, such as the armchairs in almond green, the commode decorated with marquetry or the lilac and purple curtains.

All parts of the residence designed in a purely human scale, using timeless materials and an extra advantage: in an extension of the main house, the indoor swimming pool, spare under its black roof, so as to better project its ' natural' luxury, highlighted by the overlying forest which almost intrudes in its serenity.
