Fairmont Penthouse is a 6400 square foot residence on two levels the 47th and 48th plus a roof deck on 49 of the Fairmont Building in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Below you will find a description  from Robert Bailey:

"We designed this home for an international couple who include Vancouver in their global destinations. We had worked with the owners on two other occasions, once fitting out a waterfront home in west Vancouver, and again on London Mews residence in the UK.

Our clients have several homes and travel constantly.  The mandate for all of their properties is that they are visually quiet and have a zen like quality.  We used sumptuous fabrics and materials all in very muted tones.  At first viewing the composition appears simple,  but as viewed over time all the subtle patterns and textures reveal themselves. The views in this home are remarkable, almost overwhelming. The interiors support the views rather than compete, and borrow much of the colour palette from them.

The building is part of a new hotel and condominium development our work began during the construction of the tower and was completed after the suite was delivered to the client.

The base of the interior finish palette is very muted, with beached white oak hardwood throughout the principle rooms, sand and taupe coloured stone for the  bathrooms, and a tailored wool carpet for bedrooms in the same value as the oak. What walls there are, are painted a luminous white. Millwork cabinets are in natural walnut with a horizontal grain direction.  Doors, frames and mouldings are also natural walnut but with a vertical grain direction. Hardware is brushed stainless steel or bronze."
