Faliro Loft is a project undertaken by the Athens based practice of Ese Studio in which a storage area above a store was converted into a space which would work as both a residence and for commercial purposes.

An intrinsic element of the design aesthetic of the interior is the exposure of the concrete beamed ceiling which the architects had the good fortune to discover after stripping back the original plasterwork. The industrial identity of the space is further enhanced by the use of metal, distressed wood and raw unfinished surfaces. A unique factor of the interior is the diverse range of materials selected, a collection of shadow making patterns, mosaic finishes and a variety of textures. Color is introduced into the mainly neutral interior through the red and blue of the decorative ceramic screens formed into backing for shelves and dividing units.

The living room and kitchen furniture is custom made for the space including pieces by Patricia Urquiola, making the Faliro Loft equally suitable for a corporate image as well as a sophisticated urban residence. An inspirational project executed with originality shown in the chosen materials which harmonize in spite of their diversity.
