The well known architectural office Zege (Zeppos-Georgiadis+Associates) has undertook the renovation –or better said the transformation– of a 47m² apartment with a unique view over the Presidential Mansion, at the center of Athens.
The owner of “All Experts” company that provides service facilities for home and office buildings engaged Zege architects to transform an ordinary apartment into a luxurious and inspiring pied à terre fully equipped in order to be rent with a serviced accommodation of “All Experts”. The Zege team set the goal of representing a hotel suite in an apartment, making the most of its potentials and creating a five star luxurious atmosphere. As expected, there was a fundamental renovation where the help of Z-Build construction company was vital. The areas –living room, kitchen, master bedroom, office, dressing room and bathroom- give way to one another creating an open-space scene offering at the resident a super luxury stay at a flexible and comfortable home-suite.
All areas share the aspect of clean cut lines. With every electric device hidden in cupboards the kitchen area preserves a minimal aesthetic achieving a smooth transition to the living room. The lights of Flos and Jieldé frame up the grey “Ghost” couch by Gervasoni under the photographic painting of Spiros Poros. Two sliding, folding and hinged panels isolate the living room from the bedroom and decorate at the same time with their linear patterns.
The wooden floors, walls and ceilings form cosy corners maintaining the pure geometry of the surfaces. The earthy colours of the apartment combined with a touch of black in selected spots complement each other. Diverse textures like a wooden floor and corian at the bathroom and kitchen blend nicely with special objects and furniture such as the rocking chair of “Rar” by Charles & Ray Eames as well as the wooden fan of “Boffi” in a quiet environment with a few more strong decorative elements.
With a little help from a clever layout characterised by the correct as well as the creative choice of the materials, completed with the addition of design furniture and famous brands, the everyday conception we have about smalls, develops and gains fans.
