Located in Shoreditch in the East End of London, known as ‘Tech City’ is the Google Campus. It is a  non profit business initiative  by Google in collaboration with Seedcamp, Tech Hub, Springboard and Central Working. The intention is to assist the growing number of young tech companies by providing not only start up office space but a number of invaluable benefits, such as a mentoring service, free wi fi internet, community meeting spaces, events and much more.

The interior of the 7 storey office building was imaginatively designed by Jump Studio with the concept of collaboration. The reception desk is decorated with the multi-coloured pixel-like shapes of lego bricks and leads into a vast open space with a feel of industrial chic. Inexpensive materials such as linoleum covered floors and chipboard walls have been employed in the simple decor. An exposed ceiling with industrial lighting and a kitchen unexpectedly found in a container provide an ambience of uncluttered creativity and cooperation.

Eze Vidra, Google’s head of Campus said: “ Campus’ goal is to create a central meeting point for London’s booming tech startup community. East London is emerging as a world leading entrepreneurial hub, and we’re excited to be part  of it.”
