Located on the Via Saffi, Milan, the project of creating a contemporary office space was undertaken by the multidisciplinary design practice of Hangar Design Group. Being well aware of the change in dynamics and needs of a modern day office, the design concept followed the principles of mobility and flexibility organized around the idea of the fast moving digital age in which we live and work.
A bright clean space was created with the optimum in flexible work options. Single work spaces and group projects became interchangeable through sliding walls and a choice of furniture configurations and groupings. Efficiency and functionality became the key words without undermining the essential element of comfort of a people friendly environment, in order to encourage positive interaction and natural flow of information.
The new generation which makes up the majority of today’s workforce are accustomed to being able to work anywhere and not tied down to a single space as in the past. This fact is reflected within the high energy space which works to illustrate a constant stream of information. Many of the concepts in this project could easily be adapted into a home office space, a situation which is becoming increasingly common and demands a hybrid solution for a great number of people in the business world of today.
