Once a traditional area of Moscow, New Arbat street is now better known as a major thoroughfare, the heart of popular stores and restaurants, permitting its residents to be part of the hustle and bustle of city life, just by walking out of their front door.

It is on New Arbat Street that we discovered an interior design project undertaken by Alexey Nikolashin of SL Project. In a well-lit loft like space, the open plan design follows a functional aesthetic, providing every comfort in clearly zoned spaces. A continuous flow of activity is directed through the central positioning of a cylindrical wooden enclosure which hides a private space, a black tiled bathroom. Every other aspect of this apartment is refreshingly open and visually connected, even the transparent walls which separates the bedroom and bath tub from the public spaces.

Ample storage space is concealed behind the white and black interior and a welcome touch of colour is added through the pretty rugs and stunning shades of the geometric and circular shaped couches. The entire space exhibits a wonderful play on contrasting shapes, including the exceptional variety of light fittings.
