The renovation of a 1.200 sq.m. factory loft, which once housed the iconic printing firm of Gutenberg, was a project undertaken in 2012 by the Hamburg-based practice of Seel Bobsin and Partners, for the rapidly expanding Internet Agency of Covus.

The designers began the project by a reconstruction of the Art Nouveau facade of the building, preserving its heritage status as one of the historic structures in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin. The project continued with the entire transformation of the three levels which make up the Covus office, creating an inspirational environment which meets every need of the client.

The reception area glows with a striking blue light, spacious and minimal, it duals as an events area to accommodate both guests and staff. Each work and leisure space is theme based, defined by its usage, the formal meeting room exerts a serious identity while the fun vintage look of the library is a creative space, conducive to innovative team work. Each and every aspect of this radical redevelopment is aimed at streamlining the efficient operation of the firm and enhancing the comfort element for the team of young professionals which make up the personnel of Covus.
