As a rapidly expanding company, Skype, the popular fun tool for communication, required a larger office space for their 100 or so employees based in Stockholm, Sweden. The task of locating and redesigning the interior of such a space was undertaken by PS Arkitektur under the direction of head designer, Mette Larsson-Wedborn.

The space was located in a recently converted 19th century brewery, the Munchenbryggeriet, and fired the imagination of the architects, who transformed the interior to reflect the image of the client. The seamless office space of 1.680 sq.m. offers a flexibility of seating and work areas. A fun environment with a definite social aspect which mirrors the image of Skype.

The rounded font and cloud logo is apparent in the interior and is displayed in the light fittings and softly curved lines of the colourful furnishings. The freeform triangular and rhomboid floor tiles are based on the concept of a net with connecting nodes. Symbols of audio and video production, the major role of the department, are reproduced on the wall coverings.

Every effort has been made reproduce the youthful image of the brand within the grand industrial space while concentrating on efficiency and productivity within the workplace.
