This 19th century building in Plaka, one of the most historic, not to mention atmospheric areas in Athens, is the location for a recent interior renovation project by Athens based, K-Studio. The neoclassical dimensions of the apartment included high ceilings and thick walls in an otherwise limited space which demanded flexibility within the contemporary design.

The expanse of pale wooden flooring and neutral colour palette throughout the space suggests a natural flow within the brightly lit rooms. The kitchen and dining area together with extra storage space are concealed in a wood faced box like structure which opens up into the living room, a corner room with the advantage of a uniquely curving wall which overlooks the busy street.

This contemporary pied-a-terre has been designed with expert utilization of every available centimetre while retaining the traditional elegance and charm which is inherent in a building of this genre.
