In the picturesque region of Mount Parnassos, Greece, Stone House sits at the edge of a small village. Designed by the Athens based practice of +2ARCHITECTS |nikoloudaki-kokorelia|, the two level family residence of 280 sq.m. exhibits aspects of the local architecture of sloping roofs and solid stone facades combined with contemporary elements which take advantage of the outstanding view of the nearby forest.

The fusion of styles continues within the interior, an elegant contemporary space with a semi open plan living room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor and the family bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level. Materials such as stone, concrete and metal have been used in minimal lines. The views from the house played a vital role in the room plan, and uncommonly large openings were designed in order to enjoy these views to the full. The basement area accommodated a spacious self-contained guest apartment, complete with its own kitchenette and living space. Stone House certainly fulfils every aspect of the owner’s request for ‘a hospitable home.’
