A revolutionary running shoe was recently launched by Adidas in the form of the Springblade!
Claimed to be the most efficient shoe of its type in the market, it utilizes a method of energy return within its design, inspired by everyday objects such as springboards, pole vaults and motorcycle suspension, and the shoe propels the runner forward, thereby resulting in a noticeable increase in performance.

Individually turned blades, each one a feat of engineering, recognises each phase of the runners’ stride as the shoes hug the foot to harness the energy returned from the springs on the outsole. Made of high tech polymer, a material with an enhanced level of elasticity, the shoe is set to outdo any other product in the market.

The Springblade was developed during a six year programme which brought together a beautifully crafted shoe which will appeal aesthetically to the athlete, in addition to improving his performance to give him a sought after edge over his competitors. According to Mikal Peveto, Director of Running at Adidas America, the development of the Springblade is ‘based on what the athletes not only need, but demand!’
