Created by Seoul based design studio, Monocomplex, the Afterimage floor lamp is an imposing 1.5m tall lighting unit which will almost certainly arouse controversial interest. Inspired by the traditional Korean custom of Jui-bool-no-ri - a scene of mouse fire play - the constant curvature of the red wires represents the afterimage of the photographic effect of fire.

The symbiotic relationship of the chaotic movement of the red wires, controlled and supported by the steel frame, show the light’s continuity and durability. The Afterimage lamp typifies the innovative designs by Monocomplex, one of Korea’s youngest up and coming design teams.
