Two old traditional buildings were joined in the old community in Triantaros village in Tinos in order to create a stone house with a special architectural concept. The areas were shaped according to the family’s needs without losing any of the old building’s ambience and air of mysticism.

It was a real challenge for the architects Tassos Zeppos and Eleni Georgiadi who were asked to create an amalgam of the architecture of mysticism with contemporary functional simplicity.

The house’s façade is completely harmonized with the classic beauty of the Cycladic landscape. Free from the austerity of geometric lines, it entices the beholder to turn to the simple, irregular lines of the white-washed walls away from any exaggeration. The first feeling one feels with the house is unquestionably sincere; it immediately reveals the supremacy of simplicity.

The feeling inside the house has an aura from the past in a perfected, though, contemporary version. In order to maintain the interior’s desirable style without compromising its functionality, the architects decided to completely change the lay-out. When the interior was fully restored, special attention was given to natural light, which seeping through the house’s openings, creates shadows and contributes to the ambience of the house.

Each bedroom is completely independent bringing to mind a small, classic suite with its own bathroom and sitting room. Dry pack was used for the bathroom walls and floors thus completing the total plastic architectural approach. Wide wooden boards were used for the other areas.

This is a house with sincere and clean lines. It makes time stop creating its own “architectural” history.
